Student Ambassador Program
A 5-session program aimed to equip middle school, high school, and college students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead conversations about vaccines in their local communities and tackle vaccine hesitancy through peer-to-peer education. In 2021, the ambassador program had a focus on the COVID-19 vaccines.
Ambassador workshop sessions run 2 times a year: in the summer and the fall.
The next ambassador program sessions are set to start in summer 2023.

Aaron Rosado
Dr. Aaron Rosado is a medical scientist who aims to translate his mechanobiology research on immune receptors and cells towards engineering immunity in a clinical context. Aaron grew up in a Puerto Rican family based in Southeast Georgia. Aaron completed his B.Sc. at MIT in Chemical-Biological Engineering and his PhD in Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Biomedical Engineering department under the mentorship of Cheng Zhu. Aaron is currently finishing his medical school training at Emory University and plans on pursuing a career as a research otolaryngologist.

Allison Kannam
Allison Kannam is a medical student at Northwestern University. Prior to medical school, she worked for several years as a program evaluator at a public health organization. She received her undergraduate degree in Community Health from Tufts University. She is passionate about health equity, combating food insecurity, and health promotion and disease prevention. In her free time she enjoys singing, yoga, and spending time with friends.

Ana Carolina Boncompagni
Ana Carolina Boncompagni is a 3rd year medical student at Stanford University. She was raised in south Florida and completed her Bachelor’s at the University of Pennsylvania. She spent two additional years in Philadelphia working in clinical research assessing the safety and efficacy of pharmaceuticals treating Lewy body dementia and epilepsy. Since starting at Stanford, Ana has served in leadership roles for Flu Crew and Covid Crew, medical student-run organizations that work to reach communities in need around the Bay Area to administer free flu and Covid-19 vaccines, respectively.

Beverly Yu
Beverly Yu is a medical student entering her 4th year at Yale School of Medicine. After growing up in the Bay Area, she moved to Southern California for her undergraduate studies at UC San Diego, where she majored in Bioengineering (Biotechnology) and Economics. In medical school, Beverly has been involved with dermatology work and has a special interest in skin cancer prevention as well as teaching. Outside of school, Beverly enjoys playing volleyball, running, traveling, and finding the best desserts.

Helina Mengesha
Helina Mengesha was born and raised in Bellevue, Washington. Helina attended college at the University of Washington where she received a Bachelor of Art is Biochemistry, along with a minor in bioethics. Helina is currently attending the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine to receive a MD/MPH. She is interested in community health education and patient advocacy.

Karen Malacon
Karen Malacon is originally from the Los Angeles area and is currently a second year MD-PhD candidate at Stanford University studying pediatric brain tumor microenvironments and the cells and circuits involved in altered brain function after systemic infection. Karen received her BA from Harvard University where she studied Neurobiology and Global Health and Health Policy.

Keziah Daniels
Keziah Daniels is a current MD/MSCR student at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She was born and raised in Guyana and migrated to the U.S. just before starting college at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH, where she earned a B.S. in Biology. Keziah is passionate about the health of persons with uteruses, with specific interests in urogynecology, maternal and fetal medicine and reproductive freedom. Her career ambition is to train and work as an OB/GYN physician-scientist, aiming her research initiatives specifically towards medically underserved and research under-represented populations.

Olamide Olawoyin
Dr. Olamide Olawoyin is an incoming urology resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She recently graduated from the Yale School of Medicine and completed her undergraduate degree at Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is passionate about youth education and served as the Health Professional Recruitment and Exposure pipeline program coordinator at Yale. Having seen the impacts of COVID-19 in the community, she is committed to improving vaccine education. Outside of medicine, she enjoys watching TV, reading historical fiction novels, brunching, and exploring the beautiful parks in New England.

Vickie Wang
Vickie Wang is originally from North Carolina and earned a B.A. in Psychology at Stanford University. She is currently working towards an M.D. degree at Yale School of Medicine. Vickie is passionate about health education and health equity, and hopes to incorporate these interests into a future career in ENT (ear, nose, and throat). She has been involved in Asian American and LGBTQ+ community building and enjoys singing, learning new languages, and exploring the outdoors.
